geo chalker is a traveling changing art exhibit that i drive and you create
geo chalker is a 1996 black 4door geo tracker lsi. being a midwest car, the geo has succumbed to rust and other ailments that the harsh winters and salted roads produce. additionally, the cruise control has stopped working, the heater/ac fan only works in the high position, the rear speakers are completely blown, there are no shocks, it burns oil, there's a "trick" to moving the gear shifter, and on a hot day, i have to turn off the ac to pass people or accelerate quickly. despite all the problems, i am not ready to give it up. this little car has gone across the country, climbed up the tallest mountain in CO, pulled numerous people out the snow, and moved many a uhaul trailer across several states.
the geo might not have much life left in it and i'm going to keep it until it goes to that junkyard in the sky. in the meantime, it will serve as a traveling art exhibit. it has been given a fresh coat of chalkboard paint. on the back is a little container filled with various colors of chalk. anyone that walks by the geo (while it's parked) is welcome to leave a bit of art on it. drawings, poetry, inspiration, sketches and full blown murals are all welcome on the geo chalker. additionally, anyone is welcome to erase a previous submission. i will not change the art except for the removal of blatantly vulgar or obscene works*. only other people and mother nature can remove the art.
if you encounter the geo chalker, i encourage you to snap a photo of you next to your creation. i will also accept video of you creating your art. send all submissions to blackboard@geochalker.com.
*this is public art viewable by anyone driving or walking past my vehicle including the hundreds of children that visit my work. if i feel the piece is offensive (or could cause me to be pulled over) i will erase it and will not post a photo of it.
